Leaked Pics reveal that google is planning a completely new look for Gmail

| |

A couple of newly leaked images seem to indicate that Gmail is about to receive a major overhaul.

Two new images have appeared showing a drastically redesigned Gmail interface for the desktop. Everything appears to be a bit more colorful with a prominent blue bar running across the top. On the left side of the interface you’ll find a fly-in menu system, while on the right there there is a collapsible Hangouts and new activities bubble. This is also apparently where you’ll find access to tools such as your Drafts.

Mail itself seems to have a clearer delineation as to what days your emails came in so you see what it newest a bit easier. It also appears that you will be able to pin emails to the top of your inbox for easy reference, which will make finding those airline confirmations a lot easier while on the go.

Overall this appears to be a pretty drastic reimagining of the popular Gmail service, and there is no guarantee that it will ever roll out to the public. We believe it will, however, as it matches up with some similar leaks that have been circulating for the mobile interface.

Considering how important email is to the professional lives of many, an overhaul of this magnitude could be quite a shock to some peoples lives, so it’ll be interesting to see how this one is accepted should it ever come to fruition. With Google I/O happening next month, our guess is you won’t have to wait too long to find out.
